Although it’s always tempting to push for a PB (Personal Best), it’s also important to know when to push yourself without overdoing it!
We need to consider our current training or competition load, if we have any niggles or injuries, and of course the impact of what specific activity you are participating in!
A common example of this is during a marathon preparation phase. Often we see patients in the clinic 1 to 4 weeks out from their marathon race with an overuse injury. From a performance perspective its far more important to enter your race healthy than to push your training volume to an extreme late in your building phase and be pain inhibited on race day!
Speak to us if you have any specific fitness goals or upcoming events for guidance on your preparation or getting on top of any niggles or injuries!
